Anyone who has visited Pencils.com in the past few days may have noticed a few changes. We’ve rebuilt the site from the ground up using as many of the Web’s best practices as possible to give you a cleaner design, shorter load times and a more intuitive interface. In short, we’ve tried to make it even easier to find what you’re looking for, especially all of the content that can expand your knowledge and appreciation of the woodcased pencil.
We’ve also optimized Pencils.com for mobile devices with the intent of making it easier to read, review and shop online. Later in 2014, we also expect to debut a Pencils.com mobile app to make it even easier to visit on your mobile devices. Now, we realize the irony of a site dedicated to analog tools having a focus on technology, but we think that’s ok. We’re your digital ambassadors to the analog world, and we want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
One of the biggest changes comes in the form of our blog. We revamped it to focus more on product education, reviews, how-to’s and demos so that you can get the most out of the tools you use, regardless of where you buy them. We also plan to increase the volume of our blog posts, so you can look forward at least one new piece of content every day.
For those of you who are going to miss some of art, music and pop-culture focused articles and videos, stay tuned for an announcement from our sister company Palomino about their plans to carry on that torch in a galaxy far, far away nearby.
